View Full Version : History Lesson- Makes sense to me!

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel.

The wheel was invented to get man to the beer.

These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for splitting humanity into two distinct subgroups:

Liberals and Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so our early human ancestors just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as "the Conservative movement".

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, weaving and hair dressing. This was the beginning of "the Liberal movement."

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women.

The rest became known as 'girleymen'.

Some noteworthy liberal achievements include domestication of cats, the trade union, class action lawsuits, the invention of group therapy & group hugs and the concept of democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals were symbolized by the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added),but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat rawfish but like their
beef well done. Sushi, tofu and French food are standard liberal fare.

Another interesting revolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, hair dressers, Hollywood dreamers and group therapists are liberals.

Liberals invented baseball's designated hitter rule because it wasn't "fair" to make the pitcher bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer and eat red meat & potatoes.

Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, soldiers, self employed, athletes & generally anyone who works productively outside government.

Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to "govern" the producers and decide what to do with the production.

They also like to take money away from successful people and give it to the failures.

Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America.

They crept in after the Wild West was tame & created a business of trying to get MORE for nothing.

Thus ends today's lesson in world history. Tomorrow we will discuss the origins evolution of whining.

These sorts of screeds would be a lot better if they were actually funny. Some are...this one really isn't.

But, they say that everything a person reads adds to his base of knowledge. From this one, I've learned the explanation of why I like sushi... it must be because I'm a liberal, right? smile.gif

I had sushi for lunch ... seriously.

But I do like domestic beer better than imports!

I didn't know that anyone had claimed to domesticate the cat yet. I thought it was humans that were domesticated by the cat so we could open the little cans.

I don't drink beer at all... what does THAT make of me, politically? smile.gif

I like red meat, and I drink beer. I have a pantry full of Bud and Miller at the moment, though it isn't my usual fare.

Sushi must be an acquired taste that I haven't acquired.

I work for a living for a company owned by a lot of investors (no doubt some of them are conservative!)

Guess that makes me a conservative.

It is so nice to have a simple way to know.

I like beer with my sushi.

"Domestic" beer covers a lot of ground, from Summit India Pale Ale all the way down to products of the kidneys of various large mammals sold in cans by large corporations.

I like good beer with my sushi. ;)

;) Really, you were aware of that, huh? Fascinating.

I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, of course. When I saw this pathetic series of smears and insults directed at liberals, I thought, gee, maybe he isn't aware that they wife and I and all of our friends are sitting here, proudly drinking a fine domestic beer crowned with a replica of a wooden boat.

I thought you were merely ignorant, but now I see you were fully aware.

The problem with the political division in this country is people like you, who go so far out of their way to deliberately and deceptively create divisions where none exist.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added),but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. You ought to be ashamed. A week from now, you'll probably whimper about how you look for common ground. In the next election, you'll probably vote for the guy who says he'll 'unite' us. But until then, you post troll crap like this.

Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, soldiers, self employed, athletes & generally anyone who works productively outside government. Here's one domestic beer drinking, mountain climbing, hockey playing, firefighting Liberal from a long line of liberal doctors who isn't afraid to tell you you're full of $hit.

This thread is the worst troll I've ever seen. I'd be happy to say I expect better from you, but I'm afraid you'd accuse me of being soft, tolerant and permissive.

Pretensions of humor -- the absolute, last refuge of the scoundral.

When all else fails, pretend like you were just joking.

The term "over their heads" implies there was some sophistication to the joke -- some subtle double-meaning or pun or turn of phrase that would make the joke funny, if only a person were smart enough to appreciate it.

Did I miss a bon mots or a double-entendre? No? It was just simple schoolyard name calling?

It wasn't a joke, Jeff. Jokes are supposed to be funny. It was just name calling and attacks from one end to the other. It's exactly the sort of thing you'd denounce if you weren't so incredibly partisan and hypocritical.

It aggravates me -- not because it's true, not because it offends me, not even because I've heard it so many times that it bores me.... It aggravates me only because I mourn for the fate of a nation which is subject to this level of discourse.

In a week or two, we'll be expected to take you seriously.

All I have to say is that ANY one with triple-digit IQ knows that whole thing (initial post) is just silly nonsense.

You lose your sense of humor when you are NOT drunk, ljb5.

Obviously you, in all your holier-than-thou attitude, failed to read the entire thread ...

Who the f-ck do you think you are ... you know **** about very little ... you are young, without children and without much net worth. When folks like you preach, folks like me laugh ... ALL the f-ing way to the bank.

It was a lower-cognitive joke you fool ... just when I thought- yea, ljb5 is pretty smart ... you get blinded by some non-existent idealistic bullsh*t ... AGAIN.

Keep toiling away ... and I'll keep using folks like you for tax breaks!! tongue.gif

That's the fanciest way I've ever heard someone admit they said something incredibly stupid.

Brad's not an idiot -- he's just 'lower-cognitive!

Are you really STUPID ... or do you just enjoy argument ...

The whole f-ing post was stupid ... if you truly don't see that, then you are dumber than a box of f-ing hair.

If you do realize it was a joke, you are an immature, foolishly competive a$$hole.

Take your pick punk.

Oh well, I'm jumping in the pool again to cool off ... have a great night ... and drink some beer ... you are actually likable when you are drunk.

I don't know who said it ... it came across on an email ...

The first half was somewhat funny ... the second was (and I'll give you this) somewhat stupid ...

But hey, we are all adults here, so I threw it out there ...

Not a bid deal and now how I operate.
