As of yesterday, I became the proud owner of a 1955 16' Peterborough. Serial number 82 4302. I have been searching the web looking for any information on it and am drawing somewhat of a blank. I can find info on the canoes that they built but not much on the outboards. Any insights or direction would be apprieciated. Does anyone know what the model name would be?
Thanks in advance for any information.
Peterborough had their name on a few different sixteen footer motor boats.
Post your info at http://forums.wcha.org/ on the forum and someone can assist.

There is a Canadian boat porn thread in the misc.boat related section.
IIRC The first boat is a 16' Pete.
My boat was about 15',called a Monarch,two cockpit,mahogany plywood deck,split windshield.

Edited to add
It was mid-late 50s that they changed to a wrap around windshield.
Can you get some pics?

Ron, I will try to get some pics. To describe it; it is 16' LOA, all fittings on the boat, last registered in Ohio in 1978, has a number '6' on it by the numbers, believe it may have a one point been a rental boat. It has a windshield, complete, right hand steering, walk through bench seating (two), and reat seating on either side of the stern, with space underneath for battery, gas tank. It is fiberglassed, evidently from the factory, and everything is in remarkablly excellent condition. It is painted white on the hull and bright everywhere else. Outboard, of course, and all cedar.
