I am not a violent man, and I didnt believe in this war to begin with, but I think we need to clean up and get out. Level Falujah, kill a few tens of thousands of these bastages and just leave. And tell them if they get out of hand again we will nuke them from home.

That the U.S. will invest a thousand lives to free 35 million while the rest of the world stands by is part of what makes this a great country.

But it seems some of us don't think the lives of dark skinned people, different from us, half a world away, are worth even a serious thought. :(

At least ljb5 had the sense to leave this one alone. tongue.gif

.. the lives of dark skinned people, different from us,...It's funny how the so-called conservatives among you can argue that the Arabs are human too, and that their "freedom" is worth dying for, and on the next thread defend expelling all of them from the US, citizens or not, and bombing the hell out of them in their own countries, kill-em-all-let-god-sort-em-out...

Bush..."Stay the course"............(knowing now the "Clear and Present Danger" wasn't..and no missiles capable of delivering them to the White House if he had!")...Bush still says .."Knowing what I know now I wouldn't change a thing"........And so, on and on into another black hole...a bottomless pit...for all the brillant minds of the Pentagon cannot think of any other way but to patrol our kids in vehicles made of recycled tin cans and not even enough jackets ( while dumping $200+ million) night and day in a murderous shooting gallery.

I thank my God, my son is not in this mess.

No need for names, but at least five others have displayed kill-em-all-they-are-just-ragheads attitudes in the bilge. And some of these have, in other contexts, used compassion for fellow human beings as an argument for invading Iraq. Schizophrenic, in my opinion.

Coose- 422 is not great, but it's better than 455 billion.

Do you think it not? No positive news is ever good enough? Would you like it to be 32 billion higher to satisfy your bitterness?

Seriously.

And, OBVIOUSLY, may God bless the troops that have volunteered to serve their countries ...

Relative to GNP, the deficit was MUCH higher under the Democrats.

Just as personal mortgage payments may be reasonable or excessive compared to a family's income level, so may deficits be reasonable or unreasonable compared to national income levels.

This one's no big deal--- yet. I'd like to see spending severely curbed, however, and Bush's spending proposals are MUCH more modest than are those of Senator Kerry, who has plans to INCREASE spending by around $1,000,000,000,000.

Back to my question, Coose-

Is 422 lower than 455? If so, and I think it is, then I like 422 better. I cannot fathom anyone that would think differently ...

Since the upper class pays more taxes, why should they not get more back? I only see that as fair.

Middle and working class folks also got tax breaks ... do you not realize that??

It's rather simple Chris- a percent of 250,000 is higher, in raw number, than an equal percent of 25,000.

So, as I understand it, I should get less of a tax-break than the little guy ... just because????

That would fail miserable ... just like the luxury tax, when folks started buying pre-titled luxury items ... and not NEW. The result? Well many suppliers, etc. went under ... in other words, the little bore the brunt of that tax in the long-run.

When will people realize that it is only fair that if X puts more in the pot, then X should get more when that pot is 'refunded' or advanced.

I'm not for socialism. I donate plenty to look myself in the mirror.

God bless the service people here and abroad who are serving this great nation.

ACCESSORY BEFORE THE FACT - is one who being absent at the time of, the crime committed, yet procures, counsels, or commands another to commit it.

ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT - Whoever, knowing that an offense has been committed, receives, relieves, comforts or assists the offender in order to hinder or prevent his apprehension, trial or punishment, is an accessory after the fact; one who knowing a felony to have been committed by another, receives, relieves, comforts, or assists the felon in order to hinder the felon's apprehension, trial, or punishment.

Punishment of accessories generally may not exceed that applicable to the principal offenders.

IRAQ, under Saddam, was both an accessory before and after the fact to the al qaeda plotters, and to Osama bin Laden.

We must root out the rats in their holes. It is better to fight them there with volunteer troops trained and equipped for combat, than it is to fight them here, with women and children. An ounce of PREVENTION is worth a pound of slur (Mr. Kerry's specialty).

cool stuff here.

So when GW follows the Wolfowitz/Rumsfield/Cheney/Perle Doctrine (ignore conflicting data, introduce desirable 'intel') and engages in invasion and occupation of another country where the risks of NOT ACCOMPLISHING the mission are increased terrorism, Lebonaziation of Iraq, alienation of allies and divisiveness at home.
We should re-elect him?
Think about the task,,is it sufficient to eradicate Saddam and the Baath Party,,,but not have enough troops on the ground (screw the Powell Doctrine, Wolfowitz/Perle gotta show how fast/quick/transformed bitchin we are)to secure the country?
We're in,,,Sanchez, Myers, Franks were told by the military genius Rumsfield/Worlfowitz "you got enough troops,,we don't have to increase the size of the Army",,,and now we discover that some "miscalculations" were done.
I don't doubt the crowd on the ground is armed and dangerous,,and if I was a soldier on the ground I'd like them removed. But we don't patrol Faluja,,there are chunks of Bagdad that are only under militia control.
Anywho I don't see hearts and minds being won.
If the Fog of War comes out on DVD,VHS it's worth watching.
