Moving to the San Francisco Bay area and need sites or sources to buy and repair a project boat. Looking for 40 feet or better, and a marina where I can do the repairs and finishing

How much of a project are you looking for? The Bay Area is a big place when it comes to commute times (to your boat project’s yard), do you know what part of the area you’re going to be in?

I know of a nice William Gardner 40 for sail in Moss Landing. I’ve sailed her and she’s a great boat, but not much of a project. Overall a wooden hulled boat here that is a project should be very affordable. Yard time is expensive by most standards and it can be difficult to find a place for a long term project. Let me know more and I’ll keep my eyes open. If you want some company when you’re boat shopping, I would love to go along with you. It’s got to be one of my favorite things to do.
