Is anyone familiar with the ketch Violet thats is moored here in Penn Cove on Whidbey Island? She is a plumb stemed ketch from the 1800's. really beautiful. All I can find on the net is this:

Gary and Kristie Maynard took four years to restore a derelict former Scottish fishing vessel. Their impeccable liveaboard ketch Violet scored three awards: official Oldest Sail, Best Restored Sail and Best Overall Sail.

I thought I had a picture, but I cant find it. She is the exact opposite story of that Crowninshield schooner. smile.gif

Is that the one that partially burned during restoration? The one they rebuilt next to their home?

Doesnt say anything about her burning. I cant get Acrobat to let me copy a picture from it. So here is a line drawing of a different Zulu (thats what she is)

She used to live over in Port Townsend at Boat Haven. Awfully nice boat. Nice people too.
