Dear fellow forumnites and fellow boatbuilders living near Wooden Boat offices, could one of you, please, try to contact the people working in the "subscription" departement of this wonderful magazine?
I have, from Vietnam, subscribed about a month ago to WBM, which I, of course, cannot find here. The transmission was very bad, and cut off many times. WBM still got something from that as they got paid by my bank. I have not got a confirmation of their good repeption of my datas. I sent mail three times to them, BEGGING for a reply, to know if they got my adress right, as these are quite complicated in this country....the people up there must have been sailing a lot...as all my mails were totally ignored. Who is close enough to call them and please contact me to let me know if they got all the information right?...and when I may receive a magazine? (that's what matters, not that much their consideration...)My e-mail adress: see my "profile". I would then give my personnal adress to who may contact me.
Your kind help much appreciated.
Thank you
Luc

What makes you think they'll listen to us if they won't listen to you? Generally, random strangers are not given access to other's subscription information.
I'd recommend being persistent and patient. I assume that if you're here, you could send email to them. I would also assume that the communications problems are in the international mail services, rather than at WoodenBoat.

I will foward this thread to them for you. Maybe someone from the magazine can post a reply here for you to check out the results.

Un mois? Bon, ce n'est pas encore la baie d'Along à boire. Avez-vous là-bas un contact plus direct avec le Chasse-marée? Ils sont associés.
Quels bateaux avez-vous dessinés? Il faudra nous en montrer.

I am constantly amazed to see people coming in here from all parts of the world. Welcome to Vietnam!
WBM is as good a group of people as you're going to find. You shouldn't worry about them handling your subscription - they seem to make very few mistakes and they bend over backwards to correct the ones that happen.
Remember that your magazines will take quite a bit longer to get there than they do to get to us here in the States. They are, however, worth the wait! smile.gif

Thank you everybody for your concern / help even maybe, as I got a mail from WBM...
Yes, this world is becoming quite small when we surf on internet, quite a bit larger when sailing. That's why I flew there, Shane, not sailed, but there is some interesting wooden boat building here as well, and some nice sailing along the long coast of Vietnam.
Will send you some pics about some of our boatbuilding in France, Thailand...and VN.
Cheers mates
