It's snowing in Vancouver BC! All is lost , all hope of getting home before 9:00 pm is gone. There must be at least an inch of the foul stuff. Every one with their "all season radials" scattered like pins in a bowling ally; and poor me with my brand new snowies all around and 400lbs of weight in the back wont be able to move an inch.

If you think that is something, you ought to see them in Memphis when we get snow or ice. BTW Gert, it ain't the tires or the vehicle, it's the driver. Although good tires help. smile.gif

An inch of snow in New York, and even the trains run slowly!

You mean there's a place in Canada that doesn't know how to deal with snow! Geez, you're getting soft out there!!! tongue.gif

Three spins & you're home! :D

Three rolls and you're either getting fat, or on your way to hospital. ;)

Southwest B.C.is the one place in Canada that can't handle snow.Snow is too rare(except in the mountains) for us to have an effective snow removal infrastructure and drivers don't have adequate skill nor snowtires.

I had to set a two storey timberframe up today. We were sweeping snow off of the beams constantly. It was quite exhilirating and exhausting.

Moved from snowy northern Ontario to Victoria as a teen, when my dad changed jobs. We kept being told that "the snow's different out here" ... slipperier, because of being so close to the freezing mark. Or perhaps mixes somehow with salt spray, or something.

So, the first snowy day in our first January there, Dad came back from work.

- Is the snow really different, Dad?

- nope. But the drivers sure are.
