What a major contributer to our music.
What a great!
That's the truth! I can't remember much music before Roy Orbison.

He was about the only and surely the last of the rock and roll or rockabilly singers I listened to voluntarily.
Only the lonely
Hell I even have a video of one of his last shows,
Black and White Night with folks that I have been told bye others, are all "stars" in their own rights.
So much for 'popular music' for this lad.

Did I hear 4 octave vocal range?
Imagine those poor folks that were introduced to "Blue Bayou" covered by Linda Rondstat (not that she did a poor job on it) before coming across Roy's sweet rendition.

We have a number of singers, duo's and groups that major in music of the 50's and 60's working in pubs over here. I like to listen to one or two Big O songs then request "It's Over", just to watch the look of fear on their faces,,,,,,,,,
does that make me a bad person?

A super nice guy ... but a profoundly sad person due to his son's death ... way back when.
My dad played with him in the 60's (pre-me!) and always described him as a simple man, musically, with a big heart and kind words.
