Hey Fellas:

Been a while. I originally took a hiatus from the HBPJ's due to the increased work load while finishing up the Master's. Then school started up. Then something else, and something else after that...

So here's what it looks like on the outside as of this evening...

Here's a shot from the front. Still some work to be done on the porch...(Columns and railing)

This window was installed yesterday. All the others were installed sometime in July. Go fig.

Here's my "Home away from home" or "Play house" Candace has taken to calling it a carriage house. I'm OK with that.

The two buildings together.

...and from the rear...

Everyone was one the fence at best about the color choices, but as it's come together, they have all come on board with it. It definitely stands out.

House is looking good. I have few problems from a design point of view.

Notice the lack of architectural details or windows. It is indicative of new construction. Designed from floor-plan TO exterior. It drives me crazy. Sorry, the shop and the house interior space look great but other than that I see a blank wall and a homogenized architectural style. Not my taste. Sorry .

Well, Golly, Joe, that's a fine welcome back. ;)

I just love the shop, myself.

Joe, I gotta agree. That one wall is a mighty expanse of siding. Had me worried when they sided it. But they were real careful and it came out looking great. (Well, as great as vinyl can. ) Actually had to simplify some of the exterior for maintnance and economic reasons. The 1x8 frieze board along the top was supposed to be accompanied with some fancy schmancy crown moldings too. :( Ah, the trials and tribulations of a high school teacher. ;)

At least the kids are great. smile.gif

Glad you like the shop and the inside.

Looks good Jeff . I love how that plastic siding sort of appears to sort of loop back on itself in the photo. Well it ain't wood and you / I / we sort of except that. It is what it is and it fit the budget and you'll never need to paint it smile.gif

Like Joe that wall is pretty blank but I do understand budget , I think I said budget budget , budget once back in the old posts.

The shop looks great and Alan's idea is some of how I setup so you're on the right track.

Thanks for updating smile.gif
