    Beware..War...

Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the
citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a
double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it
narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever
pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the
leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry.
Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by
patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and
gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am
    Caesar."

Seems like Dubya and Ashcroft and the Republican party don't like our freedom either. When you create a state security organization, you end up without security and eventually without a state.
If you don't think for yourself, someone else will do it for you!

          Wasn't this posted before?

I don't think it sounds at all like Caesar.

It's authenticity is dubious, at best.

Regardless of level of authenticity, this does have the stink of unwelcome truth.

When I posted this It was not as an unvarnished quote from Julius but something with a ring of truism however misqouted......I am starting to feel a bit nervous about much of the so called "protections" that are being forced upon us.....whether absolutely required or not.....

                    it is a good quote

... and it applies to some of the shenanigans taking place in our south right now and fanned on by south haters right here
The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

Chuck, you are missed. I hope and pray that you are enjoying those fair winds and following seas.

There is more authenticity to an old soldier's warnings about war than pretty much anyone else's.
