Well, maybe one more bolt. Five out of six new ballast floors in, and we've got the section of horn out that we planned to replace. I'd show you but the picture isn't very good.

One problem that took us most of the day to handle was the condition of the old screws in the planking along the area of the rudder post. Most of the screws crumbled when I touched 'em with a screw driver. I'd guess they're bronze, but most were in a bad way and made for a long day. I wasn't able to save that plank..

I've got screws that look just like that... Great to see you've got one bit 'wrapped'. Some day I'll be able to say, "Me too." Not if things go like this weekend, however... Ughh.

Actually, Rich, your screws don't look bad at all compared to the one's I'm getting out of my H28.

Hang in there, buddy, you're doing the right thing by replacing them no matter how slow and frustrating it is.

Yeah, our cup of screws became a coffe can of screws, which has now morphed into a 5-gal bucket that I can barely lift.

You've been at it way longer than we have, but I try to focus on the old riddle: "How do you eat an elephant?"

Answer: "One bite at a time!"

Cheers!
