There is a new Forum for builders set up on Frank Hagan's messing-about.com web site. The forum is brand new so there are few posts. I am just letting some people know about it.

Here's the link B&B Designs Builders Forum (http://www.messing-about.com/B&B/webbbs_config.pl)

Just an update on the URL to the B&B Yachts forum at messing-about.com, which has changed since I moved to a new server:

B&B Yachts Forum (http://www.messing-about.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2)

That's http://www.messing-about.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2" (http://www.messing-about.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2) for those of you who prefer to type it in :D

Naval architect Graham Byrnes pops in from time to time to help builders with his designs.

Mr. and Mrs. Byrnes are cool

Hey Frank, I see you live in Oxnard. I used to live near Lompoc and Santa Maria (Vandenberg AFB). Good weather. That was back before I discovered I could learn to build wood boats, and before I was injected with the sailing virus. I was a cycle nut back then.....'bout 25 lbs ago.

Moving here is what prompted me to build a boat ... two harbors close by with favorable sailing conditions much of the year. Absolutely love it here, but I work too hard! Or at least, I put in long days ;) I find myself not hitching up the trailer as often as I used to.

I have the Spindrift 10' plans in hand from B & B, and plan to start building after we get back from our trip this April. Finally found a source of Okume here in Southern California that won't make me go broke. The plan is to have a little car-toppable day sailer to satisfy those sailing urges and sneak in a couple of hours on the water. Maybe even a sunset sail on long summer days!
