Sailboat in water,
the wind may or may not blow,
Makes no difference.

Some poets sail.
All sailing is poetry
In wind or calm.

Mohogany sawdust
Small price for boat

Foghorn blow and blow,
Fog come in just the same.

Steam frame,
Frame crack,
Try another.

Meter scheme is 5, 7, 5 and unrhymed.

Wind whistles the tune
as wooden boat tacks and turns
to dance upon foam.

Old man takes the helm
wooden boat gleams in the sun
the sea is his own

the eight year project launched for a crowd
the look of chagrin over audible gurgling
cap'n slips beneath the waves into silence

Sigrid wants it nice.
Dave Doc is sometimes grumpy.
Splinters prove we're here.

Scarred and bloody hands
From chisel wounds and rope burn
Give us our honor.

The day warms quickly
The epoxy sets too fast
The hull grows a brush

Wind is upon me
Reefpoints do not exist
The water greets me.

I enter the house
Board epoxied to my head
Wife doubts her choices.

There was a young girl from Nantucket,
Who once went to sea in a bucket,,,,

. . .Who put all her haikus in a bucket.
Purists were offended
And limericists upended,
But the maid just said that this thing doesn't rhyme or scan or fit the form very well so . . .

Dave 'doc' can't write a Haiku to save his arse.
But he respects those that can.

No time for whiners.

All the time for doers and seekers
Knowledge is to be shared
This forum is the place to share
Too many times in my early years were the holders of knowledge selfish with it
I vowed that if I could I would
Perhaps my time is come
Perhaps I am full of it
Time will tell
Or so says I.

Scott’s bit fits the form
Like a booger in a rag
Or a good hawk too.

A business is built

To B. Darrah Thomas:

Debtors' prison's gone
Bankruptcy law reigns supreme
It's never too late

Or in case you haven't heard:

Wanna make a small fortune in boats? Start with a large fortune.

An old schooner set sail up in Camden
To get out of the port she was crammed in
When a yuppie who thought he was hot
crossed her bow in a boat made of snot
And cried "foul" as his gunwhales were rammed in.

Poems rhyme, dammit :-}

Can you love two boats

If fundimentalist morman.
