This is a letter from the Melbourne Age 2 Oct '05 only slightly edited at the introduction. It tickled my fancy,

An Intelligent Approach to Design

"I started musing on how Intelligent Design and Evolution might be taught together. What I have seen so far is too negative, restricted to the claim that evolution cannot properly explain the complexity of life. Surely a decent intelligent design textbook for science students should teach more than that. Heres a prospective list of chapters and their content.

* Origins of an intelligent designer.
* Before intelligent design; models of the pre-designed universe.
* Objectives of an intelligent designer, e.g. What should the design achieve? Life and bio-diversity or just rocks? All together at once or evolution? Why?
* Room for improvement; would an intelligent designer allow for product improvement and replacement over time and how would they occur?
* Relationship between designer and products; should the designer stay anonymous or be recognised?
* If recognised what product attitude should be built in e.g. apathy, acceptance, admiration, worship? Should there be a communication strategy? If so direct or indirect, say via miracles?
* Case study; human being design strengths and deficiencies?
* Practical work; students design their ideal higher human being. (e.g. Something like a human being). Compare their concepts to actual observations.
I think students could learn a lot."

Tom Begler, BrightonBut what about Copyright or insurance claims? Can I sue my "intelligent" designer, because I am not satisfied with my design?
