We're on our way to a neighbor's leftover pie party. Every year they have all thier friends and neighbors over the Friday after Thanksgiving for a dessert party. John owns a wine shop so it's usually a very lively night. Plenty of other drinks for you tea-totalers, MMike. :D

Good thing Steven cuz if we got started, one shop full of wine wouldn't be enough.

Tonight's menu is Turkey Burritos. Domestic turkeys are decended from Mexican stock, after all.

Two words: smoked turkey. Try this as an alternative to a fresh turkey, buy a smoked turkey or smoke one yourself. Everyone except the rigid and small minded will be delighted by the change on Thanksgiving, and afterwards, the leftovers are much much much nicer. Smoked turkey sammiches, much nicer than a dry old roast turkey sammich, and the carcass can make pea sooup or bean soup, like a ham, to me also a much better alternative. You can even make a great hash.
I am a convert to the church of smoked turkey. For the same reason the vastr majority of people like their ham cured, they will like their turkey cured. A leg of pig, unless cooked by a genius, is a dry and tasteless and stringy thing, just like a turkey, but a ham, everyone loves.
