Since I was a little child, it seems every night on the national news, I have seen some comment on the struggle for peace in Israel. Yet, despite the noble efforts of some, nothing has been accomplished.
It is apparent to me that neither side truly wants peace, and at least, at some political level they both thrive on conflict.
I say, we either get the hell out completely, or once and for all, the entire world community gets together and truly occupies and disarms both the Jews and the PLO.

The only way for Isreal to expand its terrortory is through armed aggression. Now, they are building the wall through Palestinian land and claiming it all for themselves. Peace is not in the best interest of Isreali exspansion. There NEVER was a true attempt by Isreal for peace and most of the world leaders (Presidents and attendees at Oslo) were happy just to have a lessening in the number of Isreal's militarily directed murders.
Isreal does not want peace. It's not good business for them. It would mean $$$BILLIONS$$ less a year in US money$$.

Paul Pless ---
I can remember back to about 1965. The US has been supporting a war someplace during that entire period.
The US in it's foreign aid efforts pays for malaria drugs that are 80% non-effective. There are better drugs but that is what we provide. 1 million people die each year because of this.
Even the US thrives (??) on conflict and death.

And...is anyother country handing out malarial pharmasuiticals? Go ask that 20% if they hate the US like you do.

I'd sure have malaria without them.

This is a cold war holdover. Nope, first half of the century, hell last part of the nineteenth. Oh the Coldwar played a part, like it did in everything, but this is older.
I think there has to be garnered an international will to partition that country, with firm boundaries, once and for all. The world of power made this stupid thing. Who in their right mind put a Jewish State in Palestine? They must have been studying their Hebrew Testament late into the night. Let them then argue the various emotion within their respective parliaments. The world made it, now let it re-make it.
That's been the attempt for the last decade or so, but the emotion keeps spilling over. I don't know the solution, but pointing out Iraeli influence in the US is not anti-semitic. It's true, Israel has inordinate influence.
Sigh.
I'm tired of the BS too Paul. If the UN has any mandate then it ought to put an end to it. But the problem is very deeply rooted.

I don't hate the US. I accept full responsiblity for the policies of the US. Even the ones I disagree with.
(As I said that there are more effective malaria treatments.)

Since the United States has provided weaponry for the Israeli's for some time, it's unlikely that the United Nations could put a stop to it. The United States has already decided that it will circumvent any decision by the UN and move unilaterally against countries of it's choosing. It also doesn't pay it's UN dues, so it is not really a member in good standing. I suppose we could try sanctions. ;)

I'm in favor of arming the Palestinians with the same amount of $$$ and military aid as we give the Isrealis.
First, create the independant, autonomous Palestinian State. (Isreal will nuke the desert before she allows that to happen.) :D
The Palestinians will definately need US $ and sanctions against Isreal it to attain sovergnty from thier militarily, overly aggressive neighbor.
