This may sound a bit silly but I'd like to know if the shiny "VARATHANE" paint would be effective as an anti-fouling paint? The plan is to have a yellow hull with a baby blue trim and the interior will be red with baby blue seats. I know that I'll have enough red to do both the interior and the underhull and am not too fussy on the standard copper red anti-fouling paint. I'd like the boat to be shiny because I like a colourful boat and it makes it easier to be seen if ever I had to be rescued. I recently sailed to the French colonies of St.Pierre/Miquelon and was quite taken with their colourful boats.

not a good ideal if you want a clean bottom. that paint is great if you take out the boat after each use. if you leave it in for any length of time it well attact all kinds of grime.

Thanks Chris:

I had a abit of hesitation about that too but I wanted to check with others before I do anything. Do you think the Varathane paint is good for the wood that is NOT in the water?
