Just wondering. Who makes their own beer and wine here?
I've been making both for a few years. There is NO better beer, except maybe Fullers and the wine I make suits me. North Douglas distributors parks a semi in a vacant lot in Victoria. Back doors open showing hundreds of boxes of various grapes. You taste a few and pick the type you want . Hand them your five gallon pails. Watch as they pour the grapes into a huge juicer and fill your pails. Take them home put them in a room at 20 degree Cent. leave them for a few weeks, put them in carbouys with air locks, leave them for a couple of months and bottle! No yeast, chemicals nothing. Wonderful wine.

I make all grain beer and sometimes dabble in wine. The best yeasts are liquid yeasts available from a couple of sources like wyeast labs.

Out in the back of the house I've got about ten gallons of a port-style blueberry/plum wine in oak casks, two five gal. carboys of apple wine tapering down, a two-gallon batch of cherry wine, and five gallons of a blockbuster cyser (apple mead).
Old hands here are familiar with The Fabled Wine Cellar of Shang (but I'm not revealing the location, in fear of another cyber-raid).
