The shoe phone has gone silent.
So long Max.

"Get Smart" won seven Emmys, including three for Adams as best actor in a comedy series."

The national news made a big deal of a couple phrases that made it into the lexicon, but the one I always liked, which wasn't mentioned, was "Missed it by that much."

Max was always trying so hard, and was such a bumbler. Missing it by a skinny millimeter seemed right. A strange attempt at commentary on American spooks circa 1970.

It's interesting that the memory is international. An artifiact of American culture.

Godspeed Don. 99 is right behind. No wish for an early demise to her. Yours and her repressed sexuallity formed American teen fantasy more than Ginger's and Mary Ann's with the professor.

Pretty good play, Mr. Adams. "There are no second acts in America." Fitzgerald.(paraphrase) Your one was okay with this kid.

Great show. Don Adams was ahead of his time. Memories: Would you believe? "Cone of Silence" Hine the Robot. The Chief.
Trivia Time: Who was the creator of "Get Smart?

99 was hot, but not as hot as Mrs. Peel.
