Some magnificent photos of the Concorde (escorted by the RAF Red Arrows,) just prior to its final full-stop in the history books of aviation. Enjoy.

Wonderful pictures.

I got to see the Concord at Oshkosh one year and hear the pilot talk about it's handling characteristics: Angle of attack on final, 11.5 degrees, etc. And the sound of that baby taking off put anyting the B-1 could do to shame.

I have the Concorde on one of my computerized flight simulators, (we're talking a fancy computer game here, not a real simulator) with a semi-realistic reproduction of it controls and instruments. Holy moly, what a complex machine! And beautiful. As I said before, its demise is a rare step backwards. :(

Thanks for those stunning pics, Mike.

Thanks so much for the pictures, Mike. Stunning. I think the Concorde is the most beautiful machine man has ever invented.

Boats are not machines, they're living things.

I especially liked the cheeky formation of the Red Arrows in the second shot, tagging along behind, pretending to be another Concorde.

Listen, if anyone is thinking of printing these, I have them about half as big again and I'll be happy to email them to you.
