Ok, now tell us what our income is per second and what percentage of our income is out debt?? If you want to buy a house thats what they are going to want to know ...what percentage of your income is going out. That percentage now, despite all the rhetoric, is not the hishest its ever been.
More to the story I think.
Gary....

Last quarters GDP was 1.497 million per second. Which means a flat tax rate of 5% will pay for it all (as expendatures cover debit retirement) with a little pocket change.

I could go for a flat tax of 5%...way less than what I pay now... :D

John...Think of all those IRS, tax company employees...(H&R Bloch etc.) who would be out of work?
This business self perpetuates itself...It has to. to survive.
I still get a kick out of knowing my TEX returns are confirmed by someone in India...We call it out sourcing in other arenas! :D

There's some lousy maths here. What you would need is a tax on turnover of 5% in addition to all the taxes that you pay now.

That's 5% more on everything and a 5% higher income tax, from the first dollar.

I'd rather pay more taxes. I like management, and I think they'll spend it well. I'm willing to pay 10% more taxes in 2005.

Who's with me?!?

Donn! the key word is management. Government does not run muchless mange itself like a business! When a department has cut backs, they bleed bloody poverty and don't look at possible solutions to balance the bottom line.
Go ahead...spend your five percent... It will be wasted.
If the government was a business, it would be up there with 90 percent of the airlines.
Hey I gotta $600.00 toilet seat I'll sell you. Who in business and his right mind would buy a $600.00 toilet seat!
