View Full Version : The worst smell
Some other threads and the recent broken bone has reminded me of the worst smell ever.
Way back when, when I broke my tibea plateu (knee), I had to spend 13 weeks in a cast from my hips to my toes, and this was the old fashioned plaster of paris cast.
Well anyway after gaining my freedom from the plaster of paris, I couldn't wait to get home and wash that leg. Oh, the stench. Beleive me, it took more than one shower to get rid of that smell.

GaryE, no,no,no, don't touch that ginko tree !
That fruit, or, more correctly that nut, is a delicacy over here in Japan. smile.gif
Pick up a bunch of 'em, put 'em on a cookie sheet and pop 'em in the oven and roast 'em 'till they turn brown. Take 'em out to cool, open them and they'll look like green jelly beans. ;) Delicious !
They're also used to flavor cooked rice, as an ingredient, and are also added to cooked salads and steamed vegetable dishes. Good Stuff !
Well, the trees do smell a LITTLE ! :D

Didn't we just do two different threads on the worst smell ?
Maybe I'm just repeating myself in my memory.

One time when I was a kid we had a couple dead hogs lying on a burn pile in the middle of summer. The'd bloated, of course, and the sun had fried their skin to a crisp.
My brother and I decided to poke one with a stick.
Turned out they were solid maggots inside, maggots just poured out like a nightmare bowl of oatmeal. That was the worst smell!

Especially if it's your own flesh that's rotting ;)

Maggots are good citizens. They do us a service by breaking down putrid flesh. What would we do if not for maggots?
And maggots are now in vogue in the medical profession, most often the #1 choice for wound debridement and general tidying up of festering sores. smile.gif

Actually, Bob, that would be Peter Freuchen's girlfriend.
Am I the only guy here that read all those adventure type books as a boy?
