Well I hope it keeps coming down. At about 9 miles to the gallon I need a break.

:D Me too, Chad! I get better than 9 mpg, but every bit helps!

Has anyone thought that gas prices may have gone down because the hurricane season is over and we are getting our own oil back on line? Look at the price of a barrel of oil from the middle east...It has not gone down that much.

Uncas, that was one of the reasons given in an article I posted on the subject the other day. smile.gif

That's right...so, is it just a bubble ( price decrease ) or is it gonna last and reflect in the prices of oil from the middle east?
If the price is coming down because of our own supplies that is one thing....if it is reflected in the price of oil from elsewhere, than what we are seeing is just a matter of the immediate supply and demand.
Hope this makes sense....I for one do not expect oil prices to continue dropping for long when our own added supplies drop down.

This is becoming the equivalent of Dutch's casualty threads...

So Karen, can we expect you to start a thread telling us when gas prices go up? Or shall we assume your selective blindness will spare us? ;)

George, she won't have to. Those on the left of the political spectrum will do it for her as they repeatedly did when prices were going up.

Edited to add: Yesterday I bought gas at CDN$0.659/l. That's about US$2.00/gal and about where it was before prices started to increase. My last fill-up before that was at US$2.74/gal.

It's just a bubble. Wait 'til next summer when I want to pull Prairie Islander to the other side of the Country. It'll be back above $2. Since I don't want to go anywhere it is $1.679 around here. They're setting us up for something.

In the grocery store today I noticed that Ghiridelli chocolate chips are down to $1.69 a bag. They had been way up over $2.10. So I'm hoarding.

OPEC is talking about cutting production in order to drive up the price more to their liking.
