OK, here is a picture of how I repaired the cracked arches. For pictures of the cracks take a look at Uh-oh.

Thanks to The Lurker and Son for their assistance and guidance, and to Jim Conlin for volunteering if needed. For more details on the process, take a look at my home page.
And, because no status check is complete without ;) -

Looks like a good job. Where the heck is that darned bush? If it can move around that much maybe you could train it to keep the snow swept off.......

Nice job, think it would work on cracked oak frames? At least if Mickey-D ever needs to repair the golden arches, he will know whom to call. Nice to see Finbar too!
When do you expect to start the jacking up project? Do you have room to move the ballast out of the way with out taking it out side?
Things have been going slow on Sarah this week Had to stop and do a little real work, as she needs the money. The next frame will be one in the back that is a double bend. This will be a true test for the hydration chamber, as it will take more time to wedge and clamp in place.
Hope the snow lets up some so you won’t have to worry for a while.

The faithful dog. I would more easily recognize Finbar in a crowd than you Ed :D

I think Finbar is sitting on the snow that's on the bush. That's a lot of snow. Here, It's just plain cold.
Good work, Ed.

Ah, we knew you had it in ya, Ed! Nice clean fix.
You ARE aware of how the legendary schooner yacht America met her ultimate demise, aren't you? LOL I waited to draw that analogy until AFTER you fixed your "church." BTW, a buddy of mine who's the pastor of one of the local parishes around here told me once he never saw a church with a roof that didn't leak. So... you're in good company!

Last year on our drive to the Maine Boatbuilder's show I noticed Eric, the Minister of the church where Andy is presently engaged in overseeing the expansion, checking out all the churches we passed. Yep, looking at the roofs. (I originally wrote something longer and more engaging, but somehow it went poof!) By the by, no leaks yet in the roof at "Our Lady"
Now on to the lifting aspect. Jacks. Still struggling in that department as RR jacks, or heavy-duty jacks with "Toes" just aren't a dime a dozen. I have a line on two, but the party isn't certain they are what I want as he hasn't seen them for years, and they are at his brother's. Another person I know has something he thinks will work. (That's three, if you've not been counting, but then I've not seen them yet.) Another party indicated that he has some, but wasn't clear as to whether I could borrow/rent them. When the coast is clear, and our "temp" has left, well this has got to move to the front burner.
As for where the ballast will go, well, like the rest of this project, I'll cross that Rubicon smile.gif when I get to it.

Rubicon (roo-bi-kon) n. A limit that when passed or exceeded permits no return.
Yeah, yeah, wise-butt. ;) I gotcha. Like having sold SAGA? That would qualify as a Rubicon, would it not?

Looks like ya did an OK job at the repair Ed. It's none too pretty, but I'm sure it works for now. So in the spring you gonna add another wing? You could box in the broken trusses and add a dormer. This is life in New England, spring could be here next week!
Nice job Ed,
Rick

How 'bout "We'll burn that bridge when we come to it."?
The temp now being +2F, there's no epoxy work tonight.

You know, Our Lady of St Phoenix was not the only structure around here that suffered a bit this winter. This is a neighbor's barn.

Great solution to the problem of the cracks. I don't think it'll work on your neighbor's barn, however. Snow...what a concept...
