Hi Everybody,

I thought I'd share a couple of photos. I've been spending way too much time on my Ness Yawl Goldberry in recent weeks! We turned the hull over in September, and since that time I've added gunwales, breasthooks, floors, etc. Recently I glued up the centerboard trunk, using most of the good clamps in the shop! And that's just gluing on the cap pieces.

Building the centerboard trunk was more involved then I thought it was going to be, but once done it went right into the boat. Here's another shot showing the thwart, which isn't quite shaped yet. Also, I added temporary floorboards (cheap pine) just to have something to walk around on while I work on the interior.

Since this photo was taken I've made and installed all the deck beams for the foredeck and I'm about ready to start on the afterdeck supports.

I wouldn't think you've spent too much time at all. Judging from the photos, the results are well worth the effort. It's looking good! Nice web site.

I'm green with envy here... Tell you what you come ride herd over the three children, do the church thing, boy scouts, etc and I'll build the boat. :D

(Note he is laughing but is also green). Sigh...

I've got your site bookmarked and look forward to your progress. Iain does draw a beauty of a boat.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I hope to have the deck framing done before it gets too cold here in Pittsburgh for epoxy. Then I can work on the spars, rudder, tiller, centerboard, etc. in the shop while the snow blows outside. More pics soon, I hope.

Cheers,
Garth

PS Captain P-C: Sounds like your plate is full to overflowing. I don't know how old your kids are, but you could get them building prams. Then they will be experienced enough to help you with your dream boat.....
