Started working on the Deck Beams and the Mast Partner. In the first picture you can see the deck beams up to where the carlins start. The side deck beams are just clamped in place for
measuring the batten that ties them all together.

You may have noticed that the lighning is now under an enclosure. What a god send! I should have got one a long time ago, it makes the work go faster because I don't have the weather to worry about. I also hung a light from the ceiling so I can work into the evenings.

Here is a picture of the enclosure from the outside.

I should finish the deck up this week and work on the seats next week.

Carl: I too have to work outdoors. I do have a canopy, but it doesn't really make it possible to work when its raining and I have to constantly move things inside.

I'd like to know more about the enclosure you are using.

The Lightning is looking great.

I got the enclosure from Menards for $299. It is 12'x20' and is designed to support snow. I looked at other enclosures but this was the only one I worked the best for me. It has flaps over the ends that keep the rain out and a lacing closure for the foor with a velcro flap.

WoW  Thats a nice enclosure. Thanks for the pictures Carl. I would have thought something like that would be more expensive. Gives me hope that someday I may be able to park my CAR in the garage. :D

Good progress, Carl.

And I like your enclosure.

Does it stay pretty warm inside on a sunny day?

Carl: Looking great! Are your deck beams sawn or laminated, my monitor was fuzzy and couldn't tell. What kind of wood did you use? Wish I could make as much progress as you are!

The deck beams are sawn from douglas fir. The mast partner is 1/2 marine plywood. The deck will be covered with 1/4" marine plywood and then fiberglassed with one coat of epoxy (to leave the mat texture for traction).

The enclosure does act like a greenhouse somehwat and warm up during the day. It is really good about keeping out the wind.
