I was reading about our military the summer before 9/11. They were stating that we were about to become the only generation since the Civil War to have no leaders with combat experience. The military is full of aging Vietnam veterans who were going to retire. The "combat" experience the others have gotten since Vietnam amounted to skermishes and routs. We hadn't had a fight in a long time. I believe this to be true and just look at the fact that Gen. Meyers retired after the fighting was over. He waited, patriot that he is, until others could gain some real experience. Now it's their turn and we have a crop of people to lead well into the future. I look for other countries to do the same, especially Russia. People are worrying about N.Korea because they have technologically advanced weaponry. Good, but if you can't go to sea without your ships going down and you can't fly against our airforce due to our total domination in the air you're going to have to use rockets. Help, where is this going?

Dead serious. I was actually trying to concoct a place we'd start a war after I read that stuff. I never thought we'd go into Iraq again, but it looks like someone else did.

Grenada
Panama
Gulf War I
Somalia
Gulf War II

One could argue that most were rather one sided.

For along time I thought those far left and far right nutcases that were constantly warning us of The military-industrial complex and all of it's supposed evils were full of sh!t. Looking at how events have unfolded the last couple of years They don't seem as full of it anymore.
