As we know, Bush served in Texas and was then transferred to Alabama, where there is no record that he served. After that, he moved to Massachusettes to attend Harvard business school.

We thought the trail ended there, but new information has emerged.

On July 30, 1973, just before he moved to Boston, he signed a document that said, "It is my responsibility to locate and be assigned to another Reserve forces unit or mobilization augmentation position. If I fail to do so, I am subject to involuntary order to active duty for up to 24 months." According to Guard regulations, he had 60 days to find and be assigned to the new unit.

Amazingly, he never reported to any unit in Boston.

In 1999, Bush spokesman, Dan Bartlett, told the Washington Post that Bush finished his commitment at a Boston area Air Force Reserve Unit. Now he says, "I must have misspoke!"
