You know that stuff at the back of your shed that you don't use any more? A bit of kit that's far to good to dump but you have out grown/no longer have use for/replaced?
You could sell it I suppose but do you really need the extra beer tokens?
Better to pass it on to someone who will use it. You get the plesure of knowing that the item will have a useful life again, the new owner gets plesure from owning a nice bit of kit he otherwise wouldn't, AND (and this is the good bit) other folk will offer you their surplus kit.
I have a 14 foot lifeboat sweep, a fine pair of large bronze rollocks and a Hasler Self Steering Gear that I otherwise wouldn't thanks to this system, and I have taken and passed on loads of other stuff.
Sell stuff and folk will expect you to pay for their "junk" that, to them, is of no use.
Pass it on to your friends,,,, it makes sense.

I once gave away a Bolger Windsprint...

Good idea, Ian.

I gave an old Burke-James 4x5 camera that I hadn't used in 15 years to my son's girlfriend over a year ago. Last friday I attended the opening for her photographs at a library. No amount of money could have compensated for seeing the joy on her face.
