While tearing apart my 61 CC Constellation I came accross what appears to be a brass manual plunger styled pump. It has a plastic handle and on the handle is the name "TECALEMIT" made in England. I found it in the engine compartment. I cleaned it up and tested it, it works fine. My question is what is it for and where does it belong.

Thanks

To pump engine oil out of the crankcase?

If it is small, it is likely for pumping oil out of the crankcase. These were fairly common until the rotary gizmos that fit on a drill motor came along.

Still around, my new Beta Marine engine came with one installed.

My sister has one of these on the engine of her Lakes Cruiser, built 1928 to transfer oil from the pan back to the top of the engine.
Amongst my fathers tools was another that he once used he said to pump oil into gear boxes from below. Tubular, about 1.25in dia., rather like a bike air pump, bakelite handle, suction valve on the side, exit on the end.
