Thanks for every ones input on bending the Keel.
I choose to steam bend and everthing went well. I have installed the Stem and Chines. The Stem has been rabbeted and the Chines have been faired. Starting to layout, cut and fit the Centerboard case. The Centerboard case is 1/2" marine ply with 1" x 1 1/2" Angelique head case logs and 7/8" x 7/8" case logs. The case is about 14" tall by 4'long with a 3/16" Galv steel centerboard. The plans call for screwing the case as well as through bolting. My question is and maybe Anita can help here. Do I through bolt through the keel and into the case logs as well as screwing or do I screw the case logs to the keel and through bolt through the case head logs? Seems to me that 7/8 of an inch is small to through bolt through but the one inch thickness on the head cases is not that much thicker. The plans show the head case logs being of a half tennon going through the Keel. Any suggestions? Screw and Bolt dia etc. I'm using Sil Bronze for all fasteners. The plans don't show any fastening recommendations other than screw and through bolt.
Any and all help and suggestions will be appreciated.
Happy Holidays
