I enjoyed Dire Straits, but I like Mark Knopfler's solo stuff even better.

Big Mark Knofpler fan, just love SoS! I liked his collaboration with Chet Atkins.

"Water of love" was one of my favorite songs when I was in college. Ofcourse "Sultans of swing" was nearly an anthem...
He has a new album with Emmylou Harris coming out, I heard a track last night. I expected my socks to be knocked off, unfortunately they stayed firmly on my feet.

BTW, I saw Mark K. as well. Graciously filling in for E.C.'s regular guitarist on the 25th Anniversary tour. Quite a treat to hear both of them on the same stage.

Saw some of this concert on TV. Eric Clapton played with Dire Straits at Wembley Stadium in London, 1988...
