of epoxy that is.
I went back to work on SWIFTWOOD last night ( yes, they're ice skating down below )
Unwrapped the old girl and went to remove what was left of the old bond so I could graft in a new piece of ply. Took out the old hand plane, and after a few strokes found out exactly how fast epoxy can dull a plane! http://www.corvetteforum.cc/zeroimg/smilies/crazy.gif
I also reasoned that I wasn't getting enough "bite" into it.
So a sharpened up the old chisel, and roughened the surface up just a tad.
that, and a nice sharp plane did the trick.
BRAP!!! off came the epoxy and down to bear wood again.
Delightful look on face, even though I'm completely covered in shards of cured epoxy!
NOTE: Next time wear eye protection http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/eek.gif ... not to mention a shirt ( pause to scratch )
