Building a boat is hard work redface.gif whoo. I remember when my dad built a boat, it took him a long time, but with my help in the beggining, it went a tiny bit quicker. We had to go to the store and buy all the supplies for the dinghy. Like wood, paint, and much more. I had alot of fun playing with all of the tools at the stoor that we went to called "The Home Depot". (it is pernounced the home depo) But when it was done we had alot of fun sailing it around. Even though we had to watch alot of "Nutshell Pram" videos, to me they were kinda boring  . All they did was talk and talk, then all theese old people came on and were talking alot and alot  . (it's cool how old people can stay so smart)hehe ;)

Pooka......Your Dad sounds like a really cool guy. I think it's great that you are helping your Dad build wooden boats. It makes you cool too. I am also very glad that you realize there is much to be learned from "old" people. :D

Yep. I'm the proud dad of that nine and three-quarters years old girl. The other night she was reading over my shoulder and wanted to make a post of her own. We decided she should have her own log-in name, and she chose Pooka, the name of our dog.
It's funny; I didn't realize any of this stuff sunk in with her until she started posting.
So no more swearing, girlie pics or chauvanistic comments. From now on this place is gonna be squeaky-clean. Understand? That's my girl, you know.

It's nice to see another father/ daughter boat-building team. My five-year old, though probably not quite as skillful as Pooka, makes up for a lot with boatloads :D of enthusiasm. Any other parent/ child projects out there?

My son (17) also works at the same museum as I, and works in the boatshop teaching kids how to make boats from small bathtub toy boats to Optimists.... His dream is to build a schooner.
