...two hours ago, before the meeting began, a prayer was said for the defeat of the Republicans in the US mid terms.

London EC2 is the heart of the City finance district and it is the heartland of Conservatism and Republicanism. My surprise could not have been greater had we been in Wall Street.

Reflective of the opinion of the rest of the world, about Donald Trump... as if the US didn't have a bad image before, in some quarters.

It was quite ecumenical; we had all of the major religions:
Lawyers
Bankers
Accountants
Clients

And three of the MEMs, plus Taoism, represented!

All in! It's remarkable we've gone from leader of the free world to pitiful in perhaps 15 years.

Conservative UK lawyers would be about as far from Trump as it is possible to get on this planet.

Well we kinda screwed up Iraq. Then we detonated the subprime debt bomb. Now Trump is busy ripping up the post World War Two financial and diplomatic order based on a junior high understanding of anything more complicated than licensing his name and buying properties.

We've given much to the world but also have some things to account for.
