Montana, the Bitterroot, and elk are three of my favorite things.

A River Runs Through It. Maybe it's time I read it again?

That's the East Fork of the Bitterroot. We were just up that way about a week ago, hiking through part of that burn and picking huckleberries. Next time through I'll try to remember to stop at that bridge and get a photo of how it looks now.

Re. the elk:

"The official number of elk counted in this year’s [2018] green-up flights is 8,585, which would be the highest number found since the flights began over 50 years ago."
