Thats a keeper :D
Ayyyyy tis nothing like a real man wearin ye kilt. ;)
Reminds me of a good joke.
So ol Ewen M'Greggor has been out with ta boys havin a few too many Drambuies. As he is stumbling home in the early morning. He has a moment of clarity and say to him self. 'Ol Ewin if ye come home in this snookered state the Mrs. will surely put me out for good. So he gets a brilliant idea, Ill take a wee nap under that big old tree and when I awake I will be right and sober as rain". So sure enough as soon as he sits under the tree he falls into a drunken stooper.
Just as he passes out, the ladies sewing auxiliary just happens to be walking by. Margaret says to the ladies " I wonder if it tis true what they say about a Scotsman and his kilt, ya know that they haven't got anything underneath?" So with that they all decide to take a peek under Ewins kilt. Sure enough in true highlander fashion ol Ewin is completely naked under his kilt. So ol Margaret gets a brilliant idea, and she ties a little blue ribbon around his wee.
Soon Ewin wakes from his slumber and staggers home, first thing he has to do it take a wicked pee. So he pulls up his kilt and looks down and seeing the blue ribbon tied around his wee declares. WELL I DON"T KNOW WHERE YE BEEN, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE YE WON FIRST PRIIIIIIIIIIZE :D

At a party, a woman asks a Scotsman what's worn under a kilt.
"Nothing is worn." He replies. "Why everything is in perfect working order and good as new!"

Back to important matters. I've heard of duck within the turkey; never tried it, but it sounds good. Now the chicken inside the duck is a new one on me. Are you sure Martha Stewert is not going to call a fowl?
I'm just about half-Scot, gotta' get me a dirk.

Which tartan is that?
My son at age 12 wanted a kilt. Since real woolen kilts are expensive, he ended up with one of these:
a Utilikilt Survival kilt. (https://secure.utilikilts.com/catalog-survival-index.htm) Yes, he does wear it to school.

WindHawk...Believe me Marthat could take a lesson from my neice's husband...
\All deboned...One turkey then a layer of stuffing...oyster I think, then a duck,,,the another layer of stuffing, then a chicken, and the the last layer of stuffing...I think one of the other stuffings was cornbread but...lost count after the first.
I looked at the directions and got lost on page 3 or 4...
It's a fantastic combo but not one you ca put together in an afternoon.
Rick...for obvious reasons...Johnston (Ancient).
Ckecked the website...interesting design...Am glad that your son wears it.
Heritage and family is/are important.

Ya got that right...and with the cranberry sauce...none of that canned stuff...Watch out.
And all I brought was brandied liver pate' and bean and ham hoc soup!
WindHawk...the dirks ain't cheap but cheaply made these days...Mine, which comes with a knife and fork combo is a relatively new one...around 1850.

uncas, this one's between me & you, I just couldn'bare one of the politcal rants so frequent around here.
As I was reading your original post, and saw your pic, my eye was immediately drawn to a photo, circa 19 hundred, of a reunion of my great grandfather and his Civil War unit of Cavalry soldiers from North-East Georgia. Scots-Irish, each & every one of 'em. Tough guys, and I know for a fact that none of them owned slaves, they just didn't care for anyone threatening their faimily. By apperance, you'd fit right in with them.
I need to scan the photo, you'd get a kick out of it.

WindHawk...Would love to see that...
As you know there were a lot of Scots/Irish in the south...A lot fought in the war and nope...none of them had slaves.
I am a big history buff...US primarlily..
Let me know when you scan it...I'll give you my e-mail address...Heck...it's on my profile...
:D
Ps...Love wearing the outfit...but they ain't cheap anymore...Usually at family gatherings...2x a year plus or minus..

On the way. There's a Beauregard Battle Flag in the background, that would set 'em off here for sure. On the other hand, of the roughly 2,000 relatives of mine who fought in the War, over 200 fought for the Union. Ancient history, but so fascinating.
