It sounds utterly plausible to me. Look up his response to the question of 'what make Lincoln great'. It was utter gobbledygook.

Tony Schwartz, who ghost wrote The Art of the Deal with him, now says he believes that our current president is literally losing his mind.

I wondered about that.

His 1988 interview on the Oprah show portrayed him very well. His thinking was clear and sharp and quick. He expressed himself effortlessly. (look it up)

He is not that way now.
