i like this photograph
i like how sparse the opposing shoreline is but for the house(lighthouse?)

My gosh Pless, you sure come up with some beauties. It would be fun to try and scale her lines down to a 20-30' and keep her gaff rigged, even if you had to reduce it to a single mast.

It's kinda like how black folk are OK with other black folk calling them "ni**er", but nobody else is allowed to.

How about herring choker? I recall that one from my moms side of the family in Sydney Mines. Can we use that one?

Well, yeah, but...

"Herring choker" is a term applied by, and to, folks mostly from New Brunswick, though it is used a bit in Cape Breton, too. Not so much in Newfoundland.
