Trump's Ambassador to Germany Wants to "Empower" Europe's Right Wing

Richard Grenell, who was appointed by President Donald Trump last year, made the highly unusual comments for a diplomat to right-wing Breitbart News.

"I think there is a groundswell of conservative policies that are taking hold because of the failed policies of the left," he said.

Mr Grenell's comments follow several other controversial remarks by Trump-appointed diplomats.

He attacked the perceived bias of the media and politicians against Mr Trump as "the group-think of a very small elitist crowd", and praised Austria's conservative Chancellor Sebastian Kurz as a "rock star".

Ambassador Richard Grenell, a Trump appointee, is accused of undiplomatic behaviour.

I seem to recall SB describing some of his less savory heroes as 'rock stars'. Must be an alt-right thing.

Once this bursted begins with the hate speech, Germany should have no qualms about expelling him immediately.

We have a Pete Hoekstra here in The Netherlands, same type, made himself rather disagreable in short notice.

What can you expect other than ugly Americans considering the creature who appoints them?
"They have a lot of stupid people that vote in their primaries. They really do. I'm not really supposed to say that but it's an obvious fact. But when stupid people vote, you know who they nominate? Other stupid people." -- James Carville on the plethora of low-quality GQP candidates in the mid-term election.

Note that Russia has intervened recently in European elections on the side of the far right nationalists - with some apparent success, as in . .
Italy, Hungary, Austria, and more . .

It looks like some German politicians are thinking just that..

German politicians have called for Donald Trump’s envoy in Berlin to be expelled from the country after he said in an interview that he wanted to “empower” conservative forces throughout Europe.

Is it coincidence that in another thread SB was linking to Victor Hanson, who says..

Every 20 to 50 years in Germany, things start unraveling. Germans feel aggrieved. Ideas and movements gyrate wildly between far left and far right extremes. And the Germans finally find consensus in a sense of victimhood paradoxically expressed as national chauvinism.

Effectively claiming a cycle exists leading to something akin to Nazism. And here we have a Trump appointed diplomat wanting to encourage that very process.
