“Eric T. Schneiderman, the New York attorney general who has risen to prominence as an antagonist of the Trump administration and a defender of women’s rights, faced calls for his resignation after four women accused him of physically assaulting them in an article published Monday by The New Yorker. Two of the women, Michelle Manning Barish and Tanya Selvaratnam, who spoke on the record (https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/four-women-accuse-new-yorks-attorney-general-of-physical-abuse) to the magazine, said they had been choked and hit repeatedly by Mr. Schneiderman. Both said they had sought medical treatment. Another woman, a lawyer, said she was slapped violently across the face. A fourth woman also said she had similar experiences.”

Jaysus!
"Choked and hit repeatedly" and "slapped violently across the face".
What does it take before someone calls 911?
They are describing felony physical assaults.

“While these allegations are unrelated to my professional conduct or the operations of the office . . . "

Maybe.

“In the privacy of intimate relationships, I have engaged in role-playing and other consensual sexual activity."

OK, you don't need to abuse power, you just need to pretend to abuse power so you can get off.

This need affects the "professional conduct or the operations of the office" for sure.

Assuming it was in fact consensual. If it wasn't, you're not just being driven from office, you're going away.

Sounds Fishy...where's Cohen? $400k/month? Were Israeli investigators involved? Mueller next? Feels like this fits Trumps plans to deligitimize prosecutors. Still a little kinky even if consensual.

Wonder if the guy Trump fired after say he wouldn't, can have this job.

#metoo is a reaction against the men of the Left.

The Democrats are a cesspit of sexism, misogyny and abuse. This is just the latest example.

Timing is suspicious, but if there is a grain of truth in this, he should be out of a job, and likely jailed for assault.

Watch to see if his successor gets targeted for something, however.

I did not see this thread before posting my later thread with the news that Schneiderman heeded the calls for his resignation. In that thread we had some thoughts of how the Right would attempt to weaponize sex abuse allegations against liberal men. And this thread's #7 gets us there.

The solution is to stand clearly for justice and due process no matter who is accused and to decline weaponizing with hunted up accusations against righties. The tactics of weaponizing and gloating will boomerang.

Sexual abuse truely is a guy thing that people grow past if they care to and fall into all too easily. Droit du seigneur and all that.

Hold on now, Ian. The Left has popularized the War on Women, with the Democrats holding themselves out as the party for women, promoting their achievement and advancement, purporting to be allied against the hateful Republicans.

Trouble is, the vast majority of powerful men to be felled by #metoo, are Democrats, who have the added stain of having defended Bill Clinton and who continue to variously ignore, or besmirch, his accusers.

The Democrats are all wet on this. This is why it is primarily coming home to roost, on them.
