Next president better have one helluva health care agenda if they want my vote. Couldn't believe all the mess I encountered today getting my son to the Dr.

Major, major out of pocket expenses.

Later,

Phil

Phil...I suspect that all Sen and Congressmen..even when retired have better medical plans than the average Joe...In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the docs paid them to visit...good advertizing....I can see it now...

Ad from Doc Smith

" We at bla bla...keep your political representatives alive and healthy...so that they can screw ya later.."

Fifty years ago the nastiest name you could call a man in South Carolina was Republican! Then Lyndon Johnson proclaimed in the mid 1960s that segregation had to end and all of the southern democrats became republicans. I suppose that many of the white southern congressmen still have private sympathies for those who favor segregation (kkk). I am not sure that we could find a candidate for president that will be able to extricate the country from the international and domestic quagmire that it is in at present.

I don't understand that. Why?

I'd like them to pay for my groceries. Would that be a good idea? Groceries are more important than health care, after all.

Be careful what you wish for.

Pres. Ford said that any government big enough to give you every thing you need can also take from you every thing you want.

You might be able to find one maybe two actual Statesmen in Washington today. I doubt it tho. Senator Bird is no better than any of the other poloiticians inside the beltway. I would say he does have a good windfinger as he has been able to hang on to his seat a good while.

Well, it's a subject I'd love to thoroughly explore but as you say, the bilge can get slippery.

Said too much already! smile.gif

Later,

Phil

PS... and I didn't think you were being a prick.

Do you really want to discuss how the Democrats lost the south, or are you just making conversation? There is a whole lot more to it than LBJ, and much of that is named Richard Nixon.

bukeboy....well...history says no...
Since Stephen Cleveland...first election...only one Sen. has won an election for president from the Senate.....Eleven...counting the current Bush...were gov....
I suspect that people want an individual who has actually run something...like a state....for president...
So...that is against him...also he is a one termer...well not even that....
We've discussed this before....
