No. But years ago San Miguel beer was reputed (probably wrongly) to have a high arsenic level; I have drunk some of that.IMAGINES VEL NON FUERINT -

I never really drink America wine except occasionally in America. Put right off by repeated exposure to high end Napa and Sonoma wines that were so alcoholic and concentrated as to be pretty much undrinkable. That was a very long time ago and a lot of water has flowed under the bridge. (Could it be the water?)
I must re-acquaint myself. I was just thinking of re-stocking the wine rack and was tempted by an Oregon pinot that sounded delicious (according to reviews) Not one of those mentioned above."Mozart is the heart's touchstone" (Edwin Fischer)Comment

Re: High Arsenic Levels In Some Wines
IIRC, one can develop a tolerance for arsenic by ingesting successively larger and larger amounts over a period of time. This was a classic means of killing someone (at least in pulp novels). Build up your tolerance, using arsenic containing fly paper, then make tea with a lethal ( for the un acclimated) dose. Drink the tea, you may get a little sick, they die.Comment

No, but do I wonder if similar issues arise with non American wines. Or wines that are not of the mass produced, branded variety.

The only thing I know is that I have a client (Rex Hill) who poured me some of their 2012. I didn't know wine could be that good.David G

I was thinking of the Flint water suppl, but 'contamination' of water supplies is not so unusual

I've had about a half dozen of those.
Just please don't ever tell me there is arsenic in Guinness. Life won't be worth living."Where you live in the world should not determine whether you live in the world." - Bono

And if you'd like to expand your horizons, there are lots of good stouts out there. Many of them, imho, better than Guinness. One of my faves is Deschutes Obsidian Stout. But here's some others --

We are fortunate, it seems, to not get many American wines here.Comment

Re: High Arsenic Levels In Some Wines
We get oceans of Aussie plonk, this side: Yellow Arse, or whatever it's called.
The only wine on the list we've had is the Menage a Trois Folie a Deux California Red Blend, which is the largest-selling red blend wine in the US.Comment

Re: High Arsenic Levels In Some Wines
bbbbbbybs is, unfortunately, the poster boy for consuming wine such as this. Though, in his case, as I understand it, there was NightTrain, Thunderbird, and MD2020 involved...
