In one tweet, Kylie Jenner wiped out $1.3 billion of Snap's market value

Snap Inc.’s flagship platform has lost some luster, at least according to one social-media influencer in the Kardashian-Jenner clan.

The Snapchat parent’s shares sank as much as 7.2 percent Thursday, wiping out $1.3 billion in market value, on the heels of a tweet (https://twitter.com/KylieJenner/status/966429897118728192) from Kylie Jenner, who said she doesn’t open the app anymore. Whether it’s the demands of her newfound motherhood, or the recent app redesign, the testament drew similar replies from her 24.5 million followers. Wall Street analysts too, have begun to notice, citing recent user engagement trends noticed since the platform’s redesign.

Fashion comes and goes. Guess they're not going to be wearing Snapchat this year. O well.

Someone who is famous for being famous caused the company to lose $1.3B. Do we live in a superficial society, or what?

My daughter, Ivanka, just arrived in South Korea. We cannot have a better, or smarter, person representing our country.

What is snapchat?

It's something like Twitter that the younger ones like. If I remember correctly, the messages do not live on after they are read. I'm probably wrong. I'm too old to follow these things. I still use email.

I wonder who shorted a whole whack of Snap just before that tweet.

I tend to listen to commentators who know the difference between the market price of a stock and the value of a company.

Seldom does the price a few people agree to trade shares for reflect the true value of the company. That is why for each seller there is a buyer.
