Not doing her any favours with the main backwinded like that.

It did. ;)

Cool boat, great image.

I have no clue what's wrong with the main. :)

Why? Honest question. In heavier winds, I often have a bubble in the luff of my main, but it is a fractional Marconi rig. Not as much experience in gaff rigs, is it not often done with gaffs?

Looking at the weather the wind will be gusting all over the place I'd say. There's a rolling luff in the main I reckon. Change in the offing.

Umm...
It seems to me that the light on the boat is coming from the right, while the light in the sky is coming from the left.

Was it a black and white originally?
The mainsail? just bladed off while the wind is up.

Thinking about putting a reef in? Then do it.

If making speed is your objective and you are not overpowered some of the time, you will be underpowered most of the time.

It looks as though they have lost half of the power of the mainsail because the head-sails are sheeted in too hard. But then it might have been an instant in time of a transient condition.

It's a PS miracle.

Ease the jib sheets, crank up the jib forestays, ease the photoshop monochrome function and you're good.

There's not much wind - she's just rolling on a beam sea?
Strange white water below her transom - with a wine glass stern there'd be nothing in front of that to cause it.

Dramatic picture - I like it.

Could be a wave crest breaking / slapping under her tuck It is a bit lumpy in the photo.

That photo is so severely effed that all bets are off.

I wouldn't be surprised if the original had a bright blue sky is the clouds and multiple suns have been dropped in
