Oh yes! John Fogerty is one of my favourite singers. He could have been a straight ahead blues or soul singer..

Shouldn’t we make a distinction between CCR and Fogerty? I believe they are no longer the same and it seems obvious which was the genius.

Nothing happens in a bubble. The great man theory almost always unravels when we look at the journey.

I liked CCR and I appreciate what John Fogerty has done to honor some of those that came before.

Well done Ted. Btw raining all day here in Tennessee, how’s it there? I drove my grandson to a nap then came back and chopped wood in the rain. Winter might be over....

more on the beauty of El Cerrito

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Cerrito,_California

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.7 square miles (9.6 km2), all of it land. The city is at an elevation of 69 feet (21 m).[10]

El Cerrito is located on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay. The hilly areas of El Cerrito provide views of its neighboring city, and of the Golden Gate Bridge. El Cerrito is located along Interstate 80, and nearby Interstate 580. The city is less than 30 miles from two major airports. El Cerrito is bordered by Albany and Kensington to the south, the Richmond annex to the west, East Richmond Heights to the north, and Wildcat Canyon Regional Park to the east. Local landmark Albany Hill is in Albany, just across the border with El Cerrito. (El Cerrito—Spanish, "the little hill"—takes its name from Albany Hill.)[citation needed] The Hayward Fault runs through El Cerrito. In addition, El Cerrito is within 150 meters (490 feet) of Berkeley to the southeast.

El Cerrito is approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) from the University of California Berkeley campus and has two BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) stations: El Cerrito del Norte and El Cerrito Plaza.

Didn't care for their music, having played bars during the years of their fame. We got pretty damn tired of drunks requesting their songs. CREE-dence (x100).

It also seemed weird that they put on such a heavy Louisiana swamp/bayou persona when they were from the Bay Area.

These days it would be called cultural appropriation. Back then, we just called it phony.

I always liked this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XB8CzTUdWIo

Wrote A Song For Everyone (J.C. Fogerty)

Met myself a comin' county welfare line.
I was feelin' strung out, Hung out on the line.
Saw myself a goin', down to war in June.
All I want, All I want is to write myself a tune.

CHORUS:
Wrote A Song For Ev'ryone,
Wrote a song for truth.
Wrote A Song For Ev'ryone
And I couldn't even talk to you.

Got myself arrested, Wound me up in jail.
Richmond 'bout to blow up, Communication failed.
If you see the answer, now's the time to say.
All I want, All I want is to get you down to pray.

CHORUS

Saw the people standin' thousand years in chains.
Somebody said it's diff'rent now, look, it's just the same.
Pharoahs spin the message, round and round the truth.
They could have saved a million people, How can I tell you?

CHORUS
