Remarkable, how 'in touch' he is, with the common folks in this county :)

At least it wasn't Sam's Club... ;)

Damn - that would've been good though.

I thought -- "That can't be true!" It must be that "fake news" we hear so much about. So I Googled it -- sure enough -- it's all over the place. He deleted it later, but he really did tweet that.

What the hell was he thinking? He would not bend over to pick a buck fifty off the sidewalk, and he saw it as some proud accomplishment to provide that to a working person for a week?

Bleeding Jesus on the cross...... :pmad:

Let's not forget that Paul Ryan famously lied about his marathon time in his initial election to Congress. If you are a runner and would like a new PR, check out "The Original Paul Ryan Marathon Calculator (http://www.paulryantimecalculator.com/)" to help you cut as much time off your best effort as Paul did.

The guy is ridiculous. But Republican voters still vote Republican, which makes them MORE ridiculous.

CNN has an article on this - including a statement that the Speaker got a $500,000 contribution from the brothers Koch ( perhaps to reward his tax-cutting efforts)

What can you expect from someone who makes statements such as:

In 2009, Ryan said, "What's unique about what's happening today in government, in the world, in America, is that it's as if we're living in an Ayn Rand novel right now. I think Ayn Rand did the best job of anybody to build a moral case of capitalism, and that morality of capitalism is under assault."

One sure thing about the republicans. You can always count on them to hang themselves.

I was going to say "shoot themselves in the foot" but I doubt they have many toes left.

I just got back from having my taxes done. According to their calculations, I should get an additional $2500 back next year. Guess I will send Habitat for Humanity a nice $2500 cheque next year.

CNN says Ryan deleted his tweet! A little late don't you think Paul?

And then make life impossible on the planet for 10,000years...but hell...something may survive..

I guess Ryan didn’t want to tweet about the $26 million dollar a week tax cut the Koch brothers are getting. The $500,000 they kicked back to Ryan was literally peanuts to them.

And since the dollar lost only 10% in value this year, she's only 9,500 bucks behind!

It's quite remarkable. I've gotten very little support over the years in my efforts to hold politicians to a standard of truth. Further, we have a class of politician who is totally out of touch with reality.

The first president Bush seemed to believe a man could work a single minimum wage job, support his family, buy a home, a new car, and put his kids through college.

They're so deep in the world of alternative facts they accept them as facts.

I am amazed that some who post here and earn over $100K/year seem to think they need more financial assistance. But those below the median can get by with so little.

The Republicans are not allone in their ignorance.

Who would that be? I'm having a hard time finding meaning or relevance in your comment.

A lady stopped me at the store and asked me for 20 bucks.

I gave her 1.35 which was in my pocket.

To me thats a lotta money, my wife only gives me a little cash..
