I am repeatedly amazed by the awful ways some wealthy people spend their money.

This is one expense I can agree with, even if it is a bit over the top. :)

Proof that - occasionally - fabulously wealthy people also possess good taste.

In a boat, it's absolutely stunning.....

If it were in a house, some of us would say that it constituted truly an obnoxious display of wealth.

Context... it's all about context.

Depends on what kind of boat and the viewing audience, too. If it were the interior of a 100-ft tri-deck motoryacht and presented here in The Bilge, it would be an abomination. <wink>

It's a good thing when we can each acknowledge our prejudices :)

The prevailing prejudice regarding boats here in the Bilge seems to be against large motoryachts. My prejudice is against people who can't recognize craftsmanship regardless of context.

I can always appreciate craftsmanship... but the degree of appreciation I have for it still depends on context. I have seen cases of astounding craftsmanship that nonetheless constitutes truly awful taste, because of the context.

I would pimp that boat out., throw down some shag, cut holes for giant speakers, add a disco ball, . Yeah!
