View Full Version : How can I be mad?

Five minutes after arriving at work this AM, my wife calls to tell me she spun out driving down the driveway and is stuck against a maple at the bottom, can I come back and pull her off?

The driveway is fairly steep, we're having light slushy snow this morning and her car is only 2 wheel drive, so I can't get too worked up about it. Nonetheless I'm mentally preparing a gentle talk on not locking up the brakes when sliding downslope as I drive home with a tow strap.

When I arrive I find that while she was waiting for me, she rigged a 2 part block and tackle from the front towing eye to a tree across the driveway, then ran the working part back through the passenger window so she could haul on it while trying to back out of the ditch. As the tires spun (Front wheel drive RAV 4) they held her off the tree such that she actually pulled the car sideways a good 6 inches. In the end, the ditch side was a bit too steep for her to work her way out. How could I do anything but smile at that?

My wife, Ithink I'll keep her! ;)

My wife wouldn't know a 2-part tackle from a turnip.

Well you gentlemen have obviously been picking your brides/SOs based on other attributes than their power tools. ;)
