IMO, the only people we can count on voting are those who support Trump.

35% of the voters in this country seem solidly behind Trump. They will vote for the GOP candidate in the general election.

35% equals 70% of 50% of voters, which would be a good turnout for a mid-term.

When Kentucky had that governor on the ballot, they had a 40% turnout and elected a man who promised to get rid of Kynect; the ACA program the state liked.

If that 35% votes, which they will, it will require an 80% turnout to defeat the people they vote for.

Has that ever happened in a mid-term?

For some reason the news is ignoring the turnout problem. Even though HRC won the popular vote, she polled far less than 50% of the electorate
